Refugee Kids Connect
Reaching out to Refugee children and youth to create community and mentor leaders.
Refugee Kids Connect running at 4 sites in Spokane
With the help from Grants awarded from Hemmingson Philanthropy, Innovia Foundation, Smith-Barbieri Progressive Fund, Spokane County United Way and School's Out Washington, RCS was able to expand our refugee youth centered after-school program to 4 sites in Northwest, South Hill and Northeast neighborhoods in Spokane. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we have changed how we plan and implement activities with our young people, serving them by delivering free boxes of food from local food pantries, supplementing their school assignments with fund and educational activity kits and providing them with much needed school supplies. Over the summer, we were able to start holding outdoor programming again. The kids in the program are participating in weekly activities focused on art, academics, sports and the outdoors.
